God has been repeatedly showing Himself in various ways including answering my prayer to give me the desire to seek after Him. I have been doing various bible studies as well as being able to sit under some very interesting pastors and teachers lately and it just seem that if it was something that really stuck with me God would give the opportunity to put it into practice and he seemed to always affirm my actions. It was just really amazing to see God working in every area of my life. But over spring break I read the book Blue Like Jazz (I know it should be underlined. How do you do that ?) by Donald Miller and it really just impacted my life in various ways. It helped me look at things differently as well as restating some statements that I already knew as fact but didn't understand. One of my favorite thought provoking quotes is this...
"I think the difference in my life came when I realized, after reading those Gospels, that Jesus didn't just love me out of principle; He didn't just love me because it was the right thing to do. Rather, there was something inside me that caused Him to love me."
It was an amazing revelation to me that it was just for everyone in the world that he died for but for just me. He saw something in me.
In these fascinating encounters with the truly living God I have decided to commit myself to a deep and intellectual pursuit of God. I'm going to read some really great books and try to continually be open for whatever God has for me.
